About

More than just gear. Doom Scout is an idea, who you are. It is surviving. Being a Doom Scout means being prepared, it means overcoming odds that are stacked against you. Not just outdoors, but whatever life throws your way.

Apocalypse-inspired

Technically, Doom Scout started long before its official launch in 2024. Ten years earlier, you could say the company actually began with the development of Dan’s first camo pattern, HexCam. Over the next ten years, priorities would shift, businesses were sold. The tactical and outdoor itch would never leave, so a new project was born out of a love for the outdoors, design, and the apocalypse. This idea, which came to be called Doom Scout, was also originally just going to be a Youtube channel for survival and prepping. But in 2024, after teaming up with Daniel McMillen, the pair decided to release clothing featuring some of Dan’s other camo patterns.

Our History

It actually all started in Jarred Taylor’s garage.

"Back in 2013 I went down to Texas to help a friend film some footage for this guy's gear review show. Prior Delta operator, really cool guy. He has this new camo I'd never seen before, which the company had sent him boxes and boxes to review and test out. Anyway, I see this camo pattern (which turns out to be wildly popular) and I say to these guys, "I can do better than this." So I immediately set to work designing my first camo pattern, HexCam, right there in Jared Taylor's garage over the next 3 days." --Dan Donche
